The Angry Left points out that the French are cozying up to Syria since the passage of the Syrian Accountability Act. Since France was perhaps the biggest champion of a certain deposed Iraqi despot this is no surprise. France's leader was also the only European leader to mead with Zimbabwe's thuggish president Robert Mugabe.

Is this France's idea of a multipolar world in action? To suck up to every two bit tyrant on the planet? France could be joining forces with the United States to pressure Syria to end its support for terrorism. How is it that Europe's cradle of liberty could become so dysfunctional? In its effort to restrain American power France is marginalizing itself. I just don't get it.
